  I have to echo some of the other comments here: - new car park = great, - produce & products = wide range, well stocked and stacked nicely, - checkouts = almost all fully automated: the new hand scanners work very well - love 'em, - prices = not as competitive as they once were when compared to Lidl, Aldi or even Morrisons, - cleanliness = so=so to poor, - staff = this is what really lets down the store. They're not a happy bunch and I often feel that me being there is an inconvenience to them. And on a weekday morning, there are always trucks and / stacks of boxes everywhere. I'll still visit for some of the fruit, kitchenware, promotions or to use the new excellent Max Spielmann photo centre but otherwise Lidl now has the bulk of my grocery money.

  Wide selection which varies from budget products to "premium" and brands. Unfortunately, some of their in house premium product are just a fail -like their sea salt and rosemary focaccia which isn't fluffy but rather hard piece of oily bread with rosemary on top. Nice selection of dairy and deli. Not the most logical layout of the store and I can't help but to feel sorry for the staff who seems to be dead behind their eyes.
